Thank you for choosing this foraging toy for your feathered friend! To keep your bird safe and the toy in great condition, please read and follow these care and safety instructions carefully.

Regular Cleaning

This toy should be cleaned regularly to prevent the buildup of bacteria, food residue, and debris that can be harmful to your bird's health.

  • Inspect the toy before each use and clean it as needed; at a minimum, once a week, or more frequently if used with wet or fresh foods.

  • All drawers, trays, and moving parts are designed to be fully removable for your convenience. Simply pull them out before washing to ensure every surface is thoroughly cleaned.

  • Rinse all parts with warm water before washing to loosen any stuck-on food.

How to Wash

Always hand-wash this toy. Do not use a dishwasher.

  • Hand-wash only; using warm water and a bird-safe, non-toxic soap.

  • Use a soft brush or cloth to scrub all surfaces, paying close attention to corners, crevices, and the inside of drawers.

  • Rinse all parts thoroughly until no soap residue remains.

  • Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling and returning the toy to your bird.

⚠  DO NOT USE A DISHWASHER.   The high heat and harsh detergents used in dishwashers can warp, degrade, or chemically compromise the plastic, making the toy unsafe for your bird.

Heat & Temperature Warning

This toy is made from food-grade plastic, which means it is safe for contact with food and your bird; however, food-grade plastics can melt or deform when exposed to high temperatures.

⚠  KEEP AWAY FROM EXTREME HEAT.   Do not place near heat lamps, heating vents, or any other heat source. Melting plastic can release harmful fumes and create sharp edges that may injure your bird.

  • Only use warm (not hot) water when washing.

  • Do not pour boiling water over the toy to sterilize it.

  • Store the toy at room temperature away from heat sources.

Safety Inspections & Damage

Your bird's safety depends on the condition of this toy. Inspect it regularly for any signs of wear, cracking, or breakage.

  • Check all parts, including drawers, moving components, and the main body, before every use.

  • Look for cracks, chips, sharp edges, or broken pieces.

⚠  IF THE TOY IS BROKEN OR CRACKED, REMOVE IT FROM YOUR BIRD IMMEDIATELY.   Ingesting plastic fragments can cause serious internal injury or be fatal. Do not attempt to repair a broken toy; replace it.

  • Dispose of any damaged toy safely and out of your bird's reach.

  • Even small cracks should be taken seriously; bacteria can harbor in crevices, and plastic edges can become sharp over time.

Moving Parts & Drawers

This toy has been thoughtfully designed with removable drawers and moving parts to make foraging enriching for your bird and easy to maintain for you.

  • All drawers and compartments are meant to slide or lift out; do not force them.

  • Remove all moving parts before cleaning to ensure complete access to all surfaces.

  • Reassemble the toy only after all parts are completely dry to avoid moisture buildup.

  • Check that all parts are securely in place after reassembly before giving the toy back to your bird.

With proper care, this toy will provide your bird with safe, enriching play for a long time.
